Fredrik Ekdahl

Fredrik Ekdahl is the solo bassoonist of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and he previously held the same position with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. He is regularly guest rector with orchestras such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Bernhard Haitink, and Sir Simon Rattle.

As an enthusiastic soloist and chamber musician, Ekdahl has worked with artists such as Janine Jansen, Martin Fröst, and Radek Baborak at festivals and events all over the world.

Ekdahl previously taught at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and has given masterclasses at University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart, Royal Conservatoire Antwerpen, Beijing Conservatory of Music, Australian National Academy of Music, and annually at the Voksenaasen Summer Academy in Oslo.
