Funding a Study Abroad Semester

BAföG Abroad: can also be applied for if there is no other BAföG entitlement. It also includes travel surcharges or surcharges for living expenses, depending on the destination country. You can find detailed information on the Internet (see links), together with the forms and a list of the offices responsible for your destination country.

ERASMUS Program: students on ERASMUS stays are supported by a scholarship, and the amount depends on the host country. You will receive the scholarship automatically, if you have selected an ERAMUS program or internship, as long as the University has the means available. The current rates can be found under ERASMUS on this website.

DAAD: The DAAD offers both incoming and outgoing students various scholarship programs, for which you can apply directly to DAAD. Please note the early application deadline!

Fulbright: For stays by German students in the USA, the Fulbright Commission offers different scholarship programs: You can apply to the Fulbright Commission for the Free Mover program directly, in either full or partial scholarships. The application is in June for programs in the following year! Participants in exchange programs can apply for travel grants, application deadline in January.

Deutsch-Französisches Jugendwerk: The Deutsch-Französisches Jugendwerk supports study visits in France with grants (300€ for a maximum of 5 months). Maximum age: 30. It is also possible to support additional language courses with scholarships. Application via the university, Mrs. Hermle-Marquart. Dates: in June for the winter semester and in November for the summer semester.

Baden-Wuerttemberg Scholarship: For participants in international exchange programs and for studying at partner universities. For outgoing and incoming students. Apply at www.bws-world.de by March 31st of each year. For more information, contact Ms. Hermle-Marquart.
