Alexander Fleischer performs as a recital pianist at among others, the Lucerne Festival, Musikverein Wien, Liedrezital Zürich, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Philharmonie Cologne, Styriarte Festival, the music festival "Heidelberger Frühling," Konzerthaus Berlin, festspillene i bergen, Festival RheinVokal, Palau de la Música Catalana Barcelona, and Wigmore-Hall London.

He was honored at an early age with prizes at international competitions, such as the Song Accompanist Prize at "Das Lied" International Song Competition in Berlin in 2009, 2nd Prize at the International Hugo Wolf Competition for Art Song in Stuttgart, at the competition "Schubert und die Moderne" in 2009, and at the Schubert Competition in Dortmund in 2009. Alexander Fleischer studied piano with Prof. Birgitta Wollenweber and Song with Prof. Wolfram Rieger at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler." Additional artistic impulses were given by Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Christa Ludwig, Irwin Gage, and Norman Shetler.

He works with singers such as Bo Skovhus, Olaf Bär, Johannes Martin Kränzle, Ingeborg Danz, Roman Trekel, Thomas Quasthoff, Manuel Walser, Mirella Hagen, Andreas Wolf, Jochen Kupfer, Daniela Sindram, Nikola Hillebrand, Tobias Berndt, Olivia Vermeulen, Peter Schöne, Konstantin Krimmel, Anna Alas i Jové, Andreas Wolf and others.

In 2017 he established the "Hirschberger Liedfest" (www.hirschberger-liedfest.de)  and since 2020 he has ben the intendant of the Lied Festival "Lied in Würzburg" (www.festival-lied-wuerzburg.de). 

From the label querstand, one can find his highly praised CD with Goethe settings by Fanny Hensel with the baritone Tobias Berndt. In 2019 the CD "Legacy" was released by "Seedmusic," featuring Catalan-Spanish repertoire with the mezzosoprano Anna Alàs i Jové. Radio recordings complement his activities as a recital pianist and chamber musician.

At the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin, Alexander Fleischer was an artistic assistant for many years for Prof. Thomas Quasthoff. In 2015, he also received a lectureship for song interpretation at the University of Music in Würzburg and led the song class at the University together with Prof. Gerold Huber. In 2017 he was a docent at the renowned Britten Pears Festival in Aldeburgh (UK).

Since October 2022, he has taught as Professor of Song Interpretation at the Trossingen University of Music.
